Catching up on Jared

I was hoping Jared could keep up with his blog himself, but his ability to use the internet is sporadic at best. I am Jared's proud Mom (Cathy). We have spoken to Jared weekly for 15 min at a time using Skype and his cell phone, for several weeks now. So until he comes home to update you with final report, I will try to keep this as current as possible. We may not have any pics again until he comes home..

One of the first tasks was to get an operational shower. They rigged up a bucket system and somehow heat the water so they can have a partially warm water. He seemed quite grateful..
They erected the water tower finally after several tries and several broken ropes, they pulled it up using their tractor and guided it with the ropes. They have been filling it slowly, they get about 1/2 hr of clear water & then it get muddy, so they stop.
They have built shelves in the rooms of the staff quarters so they don't have to live out of their suitcases any longer.
No complaints about the food, seems to really enjoy it.
The fence around the parimeter is still partially constructed. All but about 20 poles are in, but the chain link wire needs to be run.
They had 5 acres of corn planted which now has been picked and removed from the husks and in bags. It needs to be taken to the village to be sold yet.
There's an "interesting" rooster that seems to saranaide us each time we talk, I can hear him in the back ground. I am told it has become the pet of the Murray's little girl Hannah. The Murray's are the missionary couple that are there long term.
Last wk we got quite a laugh about the chicken that they caught, Richard Murray killed and they all got to help "prepare" it for a meal. I grew up on a farm, so I know what's involved, funny that Jared now has that memory as well..
I don't want to put all 8 wks of info in one post, so will wait for a few days to post again.
Just keep praying for him, for God's will for his life.
